Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to attend?
The preschool program is open to children from the community. First priority will be given to the families who are currently attending, followed by families within the community and surrounding area.
Children must be 2 years of age and have not yet entered Kindergarten to be enrolled in the preschool program. Children who are still toilet learning are welcome.
Upon acceptance of enrollment, MyKkids requires that an information packet be completed for our files (medical consent forms, allergy information, immunization records, emergency phone numbers, etc.) These forms must be on file before the child can be left at MyKkids.
Do I have to schedule an appointment to visit the center?
We welcome parents of current students at any time, in any area of our school. We encourage parent involvement, especially on field trips and helping with class parties.
Prospective parents can request a tour through our website form or call (323) 258-3690 so someone is available to show you around.
What if I can’t pick up my child on time?
A late fee of $2.00 for every minute late is due at the time of pick-up. Staff members are never allowed to transport children home.
What if I can’t pick up my child? Can someone else do it?
Is there a dress code?
No. However, preschool children must have a complete change of clothing, clearly marked with the child’s name, left at MyKkids. Caps, mittens, and warm clothing must be worn during the cooler seasons for daily outdoor playtime. Preschool children need to be dressed for the weather. Accidents can happen even for the older preschoolers when they wait too long before going to the bathroom, or if they get wet on the playground.
Does the center celebrate birthdays?
Most children enjoy celebrating special events with their friends (birthday, new babies, and holidays). Parents may send a “store bought” treat to share with the class. Please make arrangements with the teacher several days in advance.
Can my child bring a snack from home?
Yes! Any child who attends our program during a full day will need to bring lunch. Snacks will be served during the day. These will be prepared and served by the center staff at; 10AM, and second snack at 3PM
